A fitness star has written about why she’s no longer concerned with boosting her fitness after giving birth to her daughter.

Emily Skye is a famous Australian fitness personality, who recently gave birth to her first child - a little girl called Mia.

She recently shared her opinions on health and fitness, which may give some inspiration to people who feel under pressure to regain their pre-baby bodies post-partum.

When Skye first became pregnant, she said that one of her main goals was committing to a strict training regime when the nine months were over.

However, as time passed, her priorities changed.

“So many people told me I would ‘bounce right back’ after giving birth like a lot of other fit women do,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Well that’s definitely not the case for me!”

Skye endured a difficult pregnancy due to sickness and back pain and as such couldn’t exercise as much as she initially thought she would.

“My pregnancy was not how I thought it would be, I thought I’d be exercising regularly the whole way through but that did not happen as I was sick a lot of the time and had back pain that made it hard to just walk around the house,” she explained.

Skye knows that there’s a long way to go before she’ll be as fit as she once was.

Nevertheless, now that she has a beautiful baby, she doesn’t mind one bit.

“I can tell I’m going to have a LOT of hard work ahead of me to get fit and strong again which I KNOW I can do but it’s not my priority right now - spending time with my daughter is,” she said.

“I love my body SO much for growing this precious little person.”

Skye’s message of self-acceptance and body positivity has inspired many of her 2.2 million Instagram followers.

One of her followers commented: “Spot on! Don’t rush your body back quicker than is safe, focus on the more important things in life."
