Bernie Ecclestone is set to become a father for the fourth time this summer at the age of 89, it has been reported.

Ecclestone, who was formerly the chief executive of Formula 1, married his third wife Fabiana Flosi in 2012.

The British businessman has three daughters from previous marriages — Deborah, Tamara and Petra Ecclestone — who range in age from 65 to 31.

On Thursday, Swiss newspaper Blick reported that Ecclestone is expecting his first son this year.

“Yes, it is due in the summer,” the ex-Formula 1 chief told the publication. “Hopefully he’ll learn to play backgammon soon!”

Flosi, a marketing director from Brazil, said: “Like all parents, we have only one wish: the child must be born healthy.

“Hopefully he will never express the intention to do something with Formula 1,” the 44-year-old added.

Ecclestone’s first daughter, Deborah, was born in 1955 from his first marriage to Ivy Bamford.

The businessman married his second wife, Slavica Radić, in 1985, with whom he had his daughters, Tamara and Petra Ecclestone.

The couple were divorced in 2009, three years before he tied the knot with Flosi.

Ecclestone will turn 90 on 28 October.

Ramjit Raghav, a wrestler and farmer from India, was reported to have become the world’s oldest father when he claimed to have had his first child with his wife when he was 94 years old. He welcomed his second child two years later.

In February this year, Raghav passed away at the age of 104.
