Your support makes all the difference.Antonio Banderas has shared an update on his coronavirus diagnosis, stating that he has now recovered from the virus.
Earlier this month, Banderas revealed he had tested positive for Covid-19.
The Spanish actor wrote in an Instagram post that he was spending his 60th birthday in quarantine after being diagnosed with the virus, explaining that he felt “relatively well, just a little more tired that usual”.
Over two weeks later, the Pain and Glory star said he has since been “cured”.
“After 21 days of disciplinary confinement, I can say now that today I overcame the Covid-19 infection. I am cured,” he stated.
The 60-year-old expressed his sympathy towards others who have tested positive for the virus.
“My thoughts go to those who weren’t as fortunate as me, and to those who suffered more than I did,” he stated.
“I also wish strength to the ones who are in the middle of the fight.”
To accompany his caption, Banderas shared a black-and-white photograph of himself, digitally edited to make it look as though he is kicking visualisations of the coronavirus.
Several Instagram users left comments underneath the post in support of Banderas upon the news of his recovery.
“Congratulations!” wrote Spanish actor and TV presenter Remedios Cervantes, while Spanish TV presenter and journalist María Casado commented: “You are a superhero!!!”
Earlier this month, Charmed star Alyssa Milano stated that her coronavirus diagnosis had caused her hair to fall out.
The actor and activist described herself as a “long-hauler”, a term used to refer to someone who is suffering from long-lasting coronavirus symptoms.
Milano shared a video online that showed her combing her hair with a detangler brush, with clumps of hair coming out with every stroke.
“One brushing, this is my hair loss from Covid-19. Wear a damn mask!” she said at the end of the video.
Hair loss is not currently listed as one of the main symptoms of coronavirus.
The NHS states that the main symptoms to look out for are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.
