Your support makes all the difference.Many people think that when it comes to Halloween make-up, it’s all about creating scary looks complete with drawn on cobwebs and fake blood.
However, if frightfest isn’t the look you’re going for this Halloween, you can still stand out from the crowd with this gorgeous bold look that is surprisingly simple to re-create.
In this video, we are joined by celebrity make-up artist and cruelty-free cosmetic ambassador Justine Jenkins to show how to achieve a killer look for Halloween.
“Using dark eye make-up you’ll still have a gothic Halloween feel, but without all the hocus pocus,” she said.
Here are Justine’s tips.
For the eyes
When using strong eye colours, apply the foundation after the eye make-up. This way you can clean away any fallen shadow so that your foundation is flawless.
To create dramatic eyes, use a blending and smudge brush and a define and shade brush to apply green eyeshadow to the eyelid blending up to the inner brow bone and out towards the temples.
Use a concealer brush to apply bright blue shadow to the inner corner of the eye. Lightly swipe the blue downwards to create a feather like effect.
Give depth to the eye by applying black shadow to the outer corner of the eye blending into the socket line.
To give a pop of highlight, apply a pale silvery green shadow to the brow bone.
To add some extra drama to your eyes, apply mascara, fill in brows and apply false lashes to make your eyes stand out.
Conceal any blemishes and under eye circles using a classic foundation or detail concealer brush.
For the face
Use the foundation and buffer brush to apply and blend foundation, starting in the centre of the face blending outwards. Using a full powder brush to set the foundation.
To contour and highlight the cheekbones use a define and highlight duo brush. Contour in the hollow of the cheekbone and highlight on the top of the cheekbone and down the centre of the nose and cupids bow.
To give a touch of warmth to this look, use a pink or coral tone on the cheeks. Take a sheer Powder brush and swish colour onto the apple of the cheeks and blend outwards.
Finish your Halloween look by applying a dark dramatic lip. To create more definition you can use a lip brush, which will help to add more depth and more precision.
