Hailey Bieber says she’s ‘trying to do better’ after TikTok video accused her of being ‘not nice’

Hailey Bieber has addressed a TikTok video that claimed she was rude to a restaurant hostess on numerous occasions, with the model revealing that she was “so upset” about the video.

In July 2020, Julia Carolann, a hostess at restaurants in New York City, uploaded a series of TikToks in which she rated her interactions with celebrity guests.

While recalling her exchanges with Bieber, Carolann said that she had met the model a “handful of times” but had never had a positive experience.

“Next up we have Mrs Bieber,” Carolann said. “This is gonna be controversial. I’ve met her a handful of times and every time she was not nice.

“I really wanna like her, but I have to give her a 3.5 out of 10. Sorry.”

While speaking with psychologist Dr Jessica Clemons during a new episode of her YouTube channel on Wednesday, Bieber opened up about the impact the TikTok had on her, while also acknowledging that there were certain moments in her life she found it difficult to interact with people.

Bieber said: “Months ago, there was this TikTok of this girl, right, and she was a waitress in New York and she was kind of rating people’s level of kindness or her interaction with them on a different scale, and she did one about me and she was like, you know I didn’t really have a great experience with her, I just didn’t feel like she was that nice, and when I saw her video I was so upset.”

The 24-year-old then explained that when she saw the video she was “so upset”.

“There’s never an excuse for being rude. I felt bad that that was her experience with me,” Bieber continued, before adding that you also “never know what someone is going through”.

According to Bieber, she remembers going through times in her life where she was “so sad and so heartbroken that engaging with people felt hard for me”.

And although Bieber said she doesn’t remember meeting Carolann, she said that she regrets that that was her experience and that she wishes she “didn’t act that way towards her”.

“I’m a human and I made a mistake and I acted in a way that was out of character for me,” she told Clemons. “I acted a way that I don’t want to be. I’m trying to do better every single day.

“I want to continue to grow as a person and I’m open to people correcting me.”

However, the model also acknowledged that she doesn’t think those who should correct her or point out her mistakes need to be people that she doesn’t know on social media.

Bieber’s comments come after she previously apologised for the video in the comments under the TikTok. At the time, she told Carolann that she wanted to “say sorry if I’ve ever given you bad vibes or a bad attitude” and that that is never her intention.
