Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The leading trade show in Asia for the natural, organic and health products industry, the 8th annual Natural Products Expo, this year held August 26-28, is expected to attract 275 companies from 17 countries.
Usually the annual trade show's themes center around the exhibiting pavilion's country, however this year's expo will also have several themed-based product stands, including ‘Living Green', ‘Beauty', ‘Supplement', ‘Foods and Beverages' and ‘supplies' reflecting the growing consumer demand for such products in Asia.
The natural and healthy beverage market in Vietnam has experienced annual double digit growth rates over the past few years, and the number of Watsons health and beauty outlets in China is expected to more than double from 450 in 2009 to over 1000 by the end of 2010; Chinese supermarkets such as BHG are stocking an increasing number of domestic and imported dietary supplements.
The exhibitor's presentation on the opening day of the expo will be used as a launchpad for new products in the green living, beauty and supplements marketplace.
During the first two days of the conference workshops such as ‘How to run an organic business' will be held by such notaries as Andre Leu - vice president of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, and Ewa Hudson, Head of Health and Wellness Research at Euromonitor International.
On the last day of the conference in the Expo Asia Public Forum, keynote speeches will be given by experts including Ling Lee from the beauty industry and renowned teacher in the skills of Japanese cuisine Kiwako Furuta - topics covered will also include green living, food labeling, insomnia and food therapy.
