Several home furnishings and household design stores such as DFS appear in this week's top Google Insights trends in the category of Home & Garden.

This week's Google home trends are dominated by home accessories, consumer electronics and household design stores mostly located in the United Kingdom. The popularity of home design retailers such as DFS, B &Q (B and Q), Argos and John Lewis can most probably be attributed to internet users seeking information on the after Christmas sales.

More generic home furnishing terms such as 'beds' and 'furniture' stores were also popular.

Seventh most popular search term 'nook' relates to the e-reader released by Barnes and Noble. The Nook comes with a multi color touch screen, runs on the Android platform and in the United States receives its wireless coverage from AT&T. The Nook retails for around the same price as the Amazon Kindle and many technology experts believe the device could loosen Amazon's grip on the e-reader market.

The top search term in this week's Google Insights trends, ????, could refer to a famous Japanese actor and rumors surrounding his personal life.

The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days as measured by Google Insights under the category Home & Garden, recorded on December 31 at 10:00 AM GMT are:
