Your support makes all the difference.Despite a mostly remote red carpet and awards show, many celebrities celebrated the Golden Globes with their typical black tie attire - despite watching from their living rooms.
Other stars weren’t as dedicated to the fancy theme, with some celebrities, such as Jeff Daniels and Jodie Foster, showing up for the ceremony in pyjamas or casual clothes.
For Foster, the kick off to the start of awards season meant sitting at home with her wife Alexandra Hedison and dog Ziggy in her pyjamas, while Bryan Cranston revealed that he wouldn’t be dressing up on Instagram ahead of the ceremony because “comfort wins out”.
“Taking in the ‘Golden Glow’ at my home. They want us to dress up for the show tonight, but, when I consider the conundrum of fashion or comfort? Comfort wins out, doesn’t it,” the Breaking Bad star captioned a photo of himself enjoying the sunshine barefoot in a pair of shorts.
Daniels also opted out of a formal night at home, instead choosing to wear a plaid shirt for his virtual video call into the ceremony, while Jason Sudeikis appeared virtually in a tie-dyed hoodie to accept his Golden Globe.

On social media, the casual outfits were praised by viewers, with many applauding the choices to wear comfortable clothes in favour of fashionable looks for the virtual show.
“Yup. @jasonsudeikis went casual for #GoldenGlobes tonight. I’m legit wearing the same outfit right now,” one person tweeted.
Another said: “The people zooming in fancy suits and gowns are great, but the ones in sweatshirts and other casual wear are best.”
“Shout-out to Jason Sudeikis for wearing a tie dye hoodie to the Golden Globes,” someone else wrote. “I mean it, I find the casual Zoom from home approach refreshing.”
Daniels’ look especially prompted amused reactions, with one person calling his outfit the “most relatable thing I’ve ever seen”.
While there were some casual moments during the star-studded event, many other celebrities opted to dress up for the virtual ceremony.
