"Made Not Begotten" - a Biblical-sounding title for David Burnham Smith's painted head, in a selling exhibition of his weird and exquisite porcelain. "Football", a photograph with added colour by the Italian Alessandro Guerriero, was exhibited in Banal Objects at the 1980 Venice Bienniale. It is one of the maverick Alchimia design group's attempts to re-draw the world. Estimate pounds 800-pounds 1,000 in Bonhams' London design auction, tomorrow (6pm). Inquiries (0171-393 3900).
Successors to the Naked Ape - these biomorphs, "The Observers" (1972), are in one of 40 Surrealist paintings by the prolific Desmond Morris, spanning 50 years, at the Clayton Gallery, 14 Clayton Road, Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne, until 30 May. Something traditional for the garden - a 42in tall 17th century standard- bearing lion carved in Belgian limestone, among 300 garden statues for sale in the magnificent grounds of the Dutch dealer Sweerts de Landas, Dunsborough Park, Ripley, Surrey, open tomorrow (12 noon-6pm), entry pounds 2.50, children pounds 1.25. Traditional carving applied to foreign design: this late 18th century Gujerati cupboard in teak is Portuguese inspired.
