From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

This enormous scarf will make you look like a giant sock… and make you feel incredibly snug.

Anyone who loves the festive period knows that December marks the beginning of Christmas jumper season.

However, this year may be the year to break away from the jolly tradition.

Dukyana has created a gigantic scarf designed to keep you warm and toasty this winter.

Measuring at over eight-foot in length, the scarf has been manufactured using soft mohair.

Nonetheless comfort comes at a price, with the Bulgarian designer label retailing the chunky scarf for over £200.

While the scarf-sock hybrid does look very cosy, it doesn’t seem to be the most practical choice of attire.

Some consumers think the scarf looks too constricting, with one user on Twitter describing it as “A claustrophobic’s nightmare.”

Even though the scarf may not be the ideal outfit of choice for a long walk, it would definitely suit anyone with a penchant for flopping on the sofa in front of the TV when the temperatures drop.

Nothing says Christmas spirit like comfortable clothing that makes you want to stay indoors and do nothing all day.
