From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Gemma Collins became one of Santa’s little helpers to assist festive train travellers with their luggage. The Only Way Is Essex favourite joined up with Heathrow Express to promote its new Elf Concierge Service.
The reality telly star, 42, was at London’s Paddington Station recently to launch it. Elves are on hand to help passengers with their heavy bags and offer travel advice.
Ex-TOWIE star Gemma was also handing out free teddy bears.
The free service will run up until Sunday (17 Dec) at the busy station.
It is popular with Brits heading to and from the West Country over the yuletide season. Gemma said: “It’s been great to help Heathrow Express launch their Christmas Elf Concierge service.
“I love this time of year and getting to spend it with family and friends.
“Hopping on board your train, safe in the knowledge that you’ve got a very cute teddy to gift a loved one at the other end is a really fun and lovely thing to do.
“And I’m delighted to be helping launch this magical experience and seeing these bears go global!”
A Heathrow Express spokesperson said: “Gemma lit up the platform in a dazzling Fairy Godmother gown.
“And, surrounded by a team of elf helpers, kicked off the campaign aimed at spreading some global festive cheer.
“Until the 17 December, the Heathrow Express Elves will be busy handing out limited-edition Heathrow Express branded teddy bears.
“With Gemma and her elves gifting the first ones to delighted travellers this morning, as they set off on their journeys.
“As part of the service, the Elves will also be on hand to help passengers with their luggage and onward travel advice.”
Mark Eastwood from Heathrow Express commented: “We’re very excited to launch our first Elf Concierge Service.
“Which we hope will assist passengers jetting off on their winter breaks.
“Our team is expecting a record number of passengers to travel between Heathrow and central London over the coming few weeks and, with the help of our dedicated team of elf helpers, we hope we can make their journeys a little more magical.”
Heathrow Express offers free travel to children 15 years and under, with a fare paying adult, so if you’re travelling on your own or with family or friends, make sure to visit the Heathrow Express Elf Concierge Service to add a sprinkle of Christmas magic to your journey.”
