The South Korean company has sent out invitations for a launch event, called Unpacked, which will take place in Barcelona in exactly one month.
This is where its new flagship smartphone will make its first official appearance.
Samsung has also posted a short teaser video on Twitter, which focuses on the handset’s camera.
The company says it will “showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments” at the event.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 will almost certainly launch alongside a slightly larger model, the S9+, and the phones are expected to look very similar to their predecessors, the S8 and S8+, which came out last year.
The most noticeable cosmetic change will be a redesign of the fingerprint scanner, which was small and awkwardly positioned on the S8.
Samsung is believed to be shifting it to a more central position on the smartphone’s rear side, which should make it easier to access and use.
Leaks suggest the S9 will feature a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ AMOLED display, a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, IP68 water- and dust-resistance and 4GB of RAM.
The S9+ will be slightly larger, and will come with a dual-camera setup on the rear.
The phones are also expected to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack, which means you’ll be able to use them with both wired and wireless headphones, without having to purchase an adapter.
