From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

In celebration of the hit sitcom's 25th anniversary, a new immersive Friends pop-up experience is due to be held in New York City later this year.

The pop-up will provide fans with the opportunity to relive their favourite moments from the show by walking through memorable sets and interacting with props.

"It's been nearly 25 years since Friends premiered, but the fascination and universal appeal of the hit TV series lives on with fans of all ages," said Peter van Roden, senior vice president of Global Themed Entertainment for Warner Bros Consumer Products.

"As we celebrate the show's milestone anniversary, we are excited to bring the Friends experience to life for our fans in a way that pays homage to the remarkable cast of characters, iconic sets and instantly quotable moments."

Created by Warner Bros and marketing company Superfly, the pop-up will be open from Saturday 7 September until Sunday 6 October.

The experience will be based at 76 Mercer Street in SoHo, while the pop-up's retail shop will be situated at 503 Broadway, an approximate two-minute walk away.

According to a blueprint of the pop-up, upon entry, guests will first encounter the famous fountain which appears in the Friends introduction.

They will then be taken through rooms dedicated to each of the six main characters, in addition to having the opportunity to walk through Joey and Chandler's apartment, BarcaLoungers and all.

The last stop before the gift shop will be Central Perk, the cafe where Rachel Green, Ross Geller, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey and Chandler spend a bulk of their time throughout the decade-long television show hanging out with one another.

Tickets for the pop-up will be available to purchase from 10am on Friday 2 August here.

Tickets will cost $29.50 (£24.20) each in addition to tax and service fees, and there will be a limit of four tickets per transaction.

"Times I really wished I lived in New York," another wistfully remarked.
