The application provides a list of companies that do and don't test their products on animals as well as information about whether the product can be used by vegans. Vegetarian Scanner
Vegetarian Scanner is a barcode scanner for people wanting to find out more about the additives found in common foods. Users take a photo of the ingredient list found on the food label to find out if the additives contain animal products or not. For iPod touch users without a camera, the food additive numbers can be manually entered into the app or found using the search feature. The application is only compatible with information derived from "E-numbers" - a food labeling system used within the European Union, Australia and New Zealand.
