Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It's one of the themed afternoon teas taking London by storm.

And the great news is that the ever-so-popular, sold-out Tale as Old as Time Afternoon Tea over at Town House at The Kensington is extending its run right through until summer next year.

The various sweets and savouries featured in this whimsical Insta-friendly afternoon tea are inspired by the characters and scenes of the classic film, Beauty and the Beast, complete with charming Mrs Potts and Chip Potts dishware.

This delightful afternoon tea, with a fairy tale twist, is perfect for a family outing or fun afternoon with friends and loved ones.
The menu includes scrumptuous bite-size Venison pies, beef ragu and cheese soufflé along with sandwiches including potted Argyle smoked salmon and crème fraiche and roast chicken with cranberry.

And sweets feature a vanilla and gold jelly, a 'try the grey stuff' white chocolate mousse, Belle's Speculoos dress marzipan and Marie’s sweet brioche baguette along with lots more.
