From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

During a blockbuster summer of comic book heroes come to life, little caped crusaders can have their cake and eat it too.

Kitchenware retailer Williams-Sonoma has launched a cakelet pan with molds of silver screen superheroes like Captain America - who hit theaters this summer - Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine and The Incredible Hulk.

The cast aluminum pan turns out individual characters that can then be decorated with colorful icings and sprinkles. Recipes are included.

This summer has resurrected an inordinate number of childhood characters onto the silver screen, with comic book heroes like Captain America, Green Lantern and the Smurfs making their onscreen debut.

The Marvel Cakelet Pan retails for $36 (€25) in the US.

Their Spider-Man cookie cutter set also allows budding comic book writers to create their own cover art in the form of a giant cookie.

The scrapbook kit includes a cache of secret weapons like stamps, icings and sugars to create their own comic book. Stamps include action-packed expressions like WAHOO! CRASH! THWAP! and GO WEB GO!

The cookie cutter set retails for $19.95 (€14).

Amazon.co.uk also sells superhero baking paraphernalia with a Spider-Man cake stand and cupcake stand both by Wilton.

Williams-Sonoma ships to 75 different countries in Asia, South America, and Europe.
