From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Stormzy has become the first person to receive a Greggs “Concierge” card, a black card that entitles the rapper to a “next level VIP” service.

Following Tuesday evening’s Brit Awards, at which the rapper was named Best Male Solo Artist, Stormzy received a surprise delivery from the bakery chain.

In a clip shared on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, the musician unboxes a gift that contains a video message from Greggs.

The video begins with a series of messages listing several of Stormzy’s greatest achievements, before adding: “Now you really have it all.”

“It’s time to live life like it’s golden. Say hello to Greggs Concierge. You’re the first to own it,” it then states.

The Greggs “Concierge” card will allow Stormzy to order anything he would like from the menu, “wherever, whenever,” the video explains.

“Straight to your door. Could be Croydon, Glasto, Reading, 100 bags to Flipz’s crib, direct to Fraser T Smith’s Putney studio, even to AJ Tracey’s penthouse on the 47th floor,” it explains.

“So put up your big size 12s, drop us a line, and when you roll in, we’ll roll out.”

Stormzy was also gifted a pair of black slippers to match his sleek VIP card, following the rapper’s recent appearance on BBC Breakfast in January when he forgot to change out of his slippers before the interview.

The 26-year-old celebrated becoming the first recipient of the Greggs black card on Twitter, writing: “Are you mad the first Greggs black card @Greggsofficial I have peaked this is brilliant.”

Greggs is being careful not to reveal too much information about how an individual can bag a “Concierge” card.

However, the company has outlined that black cards are given out on a strictly invite-only basis.

“Our Concierge card is strictly by invite only to some of our biggest fans. That’s all we can say,” a Greggs spokesperson said.

Several Twitter users expressed their desire to obtain a coveted Greggs black card.

“I need one asap imagine sausage and bean on tap are u madddd,” one person tweeted.

“I’ve never been more jealous of someone in my life,” another added.
