My Life On A Plate: Theo Randall
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. My top table
Al Pompiere in Verona (00 39 045 803 0537). They do a wonderful dish with beef fillets and grilled radicchio with aged balsamic vinegar. You go in at 7.30pm and leave at 1am and it feels like you've been there for five minutes.
Comfort eating
Dim sum at the Royal China on Baker Street, London W1 (020-7487 4688) on a Sunday afternoon.
My favourite cookbook
Modern Italian Cooking by Biba Caggiano – a brilliant collection of recipes and little stories.
The food shop I can't walk past
It's not a shop but a website called Natoora ( www.natoora.co.uk). They bring vegetables over from Milan Market twice a week and you get these incredible selections. It's easy to spend a fortune.
What's in my fridge?
Prosciutto, Parmesan, Italian butter, Swiss chard, some overripe tomatoes and a few capers. And there's always a jar of Dijon mustard and a jar of anchovies.
