These Walkers ‘mix-up’ bags of crisps are either sacrilege or genius

Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

If you’ve been looking to inject an element of spontaneity and danger into your crisp eating, then boy have I got the snack-based piece of news for you.

Walkers have launched a new line of crisp packets that contain Doritos, Monster Munch, Wotsits and French Fries. All in the same bag. Just one big potato and maize party.

“New Walkers MixUps brings together the whole family’s favourites, which offers a variety of tastes, textures and shapes for the first time in one tasty bag that will keep everyone happy on those family nights in,” Walkers announced, which is good given I nearly bludgeoned my family to death over the lack of variety in Quavers a couple of Christmases ago.

The crispy maelstrom that is Mix Ups will presumably also obliterate the stoner market.

The jury’s out for me until I've tried them, and I’m not sure how I feel about a ‘cheese’-flavoured Dorito or French Fry - a stark departure from their tangy cheese and cheese & onion respective origins.

Anyway, people will be going “Huh, well would you look at that” at these new bags in stores from today, alongside other MixUps that collide cheese and Worcester sauce flavours and sweet and salty popcorn (though obviously that’s a classic combo). They have an RRP of £1.99.
