From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Nando’s is getting into the Christmas spirit with the launch of a new limited-edition flavour.

The fruity Spiced Clementine sauce combines orange flavours with seasonal spices, peri-peri and hibiscus.

The new addition to the restaurant’s line-up sits under “medium” on the Nando’s PERI-ometer heat scale, meaning it might not be one for Lemon and Herb fans.

Spiced Clementine can be added to any of Nando's mains including burgers, wraps, pittas and even its latest plant-based offering, the Great Imitator.

While the addition is good news for anyone wanting to try something new, the flavour is replacing Nando’s existing Coconut & Lemon spice, which was only added to the menu in July as a seasonal flavour.

The festive-flavoured sauce is available now and will run for a limited time. However, Nando's has not specified when it will be removed from the menu.

To celebrate the launch of Spiced Clementine and help spread some festive cheer, Nando’s has also announced that all deliveries placed via its own delivery service will be free on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.

While Nando's stores in England are currently closed due to the government's coronavirus lockdown measures, customers you can still order a takeaway via the restaurant’s website or through Deliveroo.

Some outlets in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are open. You can check out your local branch online here.

Nando’s is not the only food company to launch a Christmas-inspired treat. In October, Twix unveiled its latest flavour, Winter Spice, which comes with the addition of some classic festive flavours including nutmeg and cinnamon.

Meanwhile, Sainsbury’s finally made it acceptable to eat mince pies for breakfast with the launch of its Mince Pie Wheats cereal, made from crunchy little pockets of wheat that are filled with a softly spiced raisin centre.
