Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Luxury chocolatier, Godiva, has partnered with immersive dining pioneers, Gingerline, to bring a sensory chocolate banquet to London for one week only.
The collaboration is a celebration of the launch of Godiva's new Masterpieces range this month.
After the initial public ballot to win free tickets, the internationally-renowned chocolatier reopened the competition, providing Britain’s army of chocolate lovers with a second shot at winning tickets, after extending the run to five nights from the 25th – 29th September due to high demand for tickets.
Guests will be treated to an evening of multi-sensorial, luxurious dining, with three indulgent courses informed by the shapes, tastes and stories behind the new Godiva Masterpieces collection; the Heart, the Shell and the Lion.
On arrival, visitors will step into an artist’s workshop, then venture through one of its paintings into a grand banquet hall.
They’ll embark on a gastronomic feast, with three epic full-room transformations inspired by Godiva’s new collection, incorporating smells, textures, movement, sound and the sort of immersive wonderment Gingerline is famous for.
Details such as the location and menu are only revealed to guests via text message on the day that they have booked to attend.
Sarah Horowitz, Head of Chocolate at pladis UK, says: "The launch of our new Godiva Masterpieces range in to supermarkets is a way for us to bring everyday luxury, and our incredible chocolate experiences, to a new audience - showing them that chocolate never felt so good.
“In a similar fashion, having our tickets for The Godiva Masterpiece Banquet available to win through our public ballot opens up this unique opportunity to attend this incredible dining experience to everyone.”
Suz Mountfort, Gingerline Co-Founder, says of the experience: “Gingerline saw in Godiva’s brief the opportunity to do something new and exciting with the dining format, we wanted to create a transformative and exhilarating dining experience. Modern artistry comes in all forms, whether it’s through creating a painting, a fabulous plate of food, a chocolate sculpture or using sound, movement and taste to take people out of the everyday. This dinner will assemble a wondrous palette of modern art forms.”
Those keen for a second shot at winning tickets should visit the Godiva UK Facebook page and enter the competition by answering one short question about the new range. The competition is live from Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 September.
