Your support makes all the difference.Dr Pepper has apologised for a shortage of products amid the coronavirus pandemic, telling customers to “hang tight”.
In a statement shared across its social media platforms, Dr Pepper, which is owned by American conglomerate Keurig Dr Pepper, explained why customers in the US may have been struggling to find the soft drink in stores as of late.
The brand stated that it knows “it’s harder to find Dr Pepper these days”, an issue the company is “working on”.
“Having trouble finding your favourite Dr Pepper product? We’re doing everything we can to get it back into your hands,” the firm said.
“That means working with our distribution partners to keep shelves stocked nationwide, while ensuring the safety of our employees.”
The company said it appreciated the “patience” of its customers, while encouraging them to contact their local retailers to find out more about “the most up-to-date availability of Dr Pepper products”.
The firm also added that this applied to “all flavours of Dr Pepper”, including the soft drink’s newest flavour, Dr Pepper and Cream Soda.
The Independent has contacted Dr Pepper to find out what exactly has caused the shortage of products in the US.
Following the statement shared by Dr Pepper on its social media accounts, another American company, toilet brand Charmin, chimed in to share that it was also experiencing a shortage.
“Welcome to the club. We feel your pain,” the company tweeted underneath the Dr Pepper announcement.
“TP and DP – in this together,” Dr Pepper responded, with Charmin then replying with a gif from the 2008 film Step Brothers in which Will Ferrell asks John C Reilly: “Did we just become best friends?”
Several Twitter users expressed their disappointment over the Dr Pepper shortage, with one person lamenting: “What am I going to do???”
“Say it isn’t so @drpepper... my husband is going to freak out if he can’t get his daily fix of Dr Pepper,” one person said.
“Please. I’ve had to resort to the little boys due to the shortage,” another stated, sharing a photograph of a miniature Dr Pepper can.
