From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Even if you haven't heard of Pat McGrath, you will have seen one of her makeup looks, whether on the catwalk, in an ad campaign or on a celebrity, she's widely considered a legend in the beauty world.

What better place for the world-famous makeup artist whose roster of shows she's created the beauty look for so far this season already includes Versace, Prada, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, then smack bang in the middle of Paris Fashion Week.

McGrath took a bevvy of models to the Jardin Tuileries (prime fashion week stomping ground) in association with Vogue.com to announce her new makeup line. The likes of Stella Maxwell, Balla Hadid and Jamie Bouchert, as well as few lucky passers-by got to test out McGrath's debut product.

It's perhaps fitting for a makeup artist that couldn't possibly be more in-demand, that her first product to the market would be a little bit like gold dust, or Gold001 to give it it's offical name.

The hints were there, no more so than at Prada's spring/summer 2016 show in which models sported eyecatching gold lips that were created using the product.

Commenting on the launch McGrath said:

"Gold 001 is a one off revolutionary highly malleable formula - there is something magnificent about its pure form that leaves me breathless."

And you won't have to wait long, because Gold001 launches next month, available from patmcgrath.com
