Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The 2019 Wimbledon Championships are in full swing, with a swarm of high-profile celebrities already being spotted enjoying the tennis on Centre Court.

The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance on the fourth day of the championship, venturing to Centre Court to support close friend Serena Williams in her second-round match against Kaja Juvan.

Meghan opted for a casual look, wearing a pair of jeans, a black Lavender Hill top, a white striped L'Agence blazer and a pair of Finlay and Co sunglasses, completing her outfit with an "A" necklace in an apparent nod to her son.

The Duchess of Cambridge, known for being a keen tennis fan, made an appearance on the second day of the championship wearing a white button-up dress by British fashion label Suzannah and carrying an Alexander McQueen clutch.

The duchess is a royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and The Lawn Tennis Association.
