From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

In 8 days time the world's most beautiful women will take to the catwalk in the annual lingerie extravaganza that is the Victoria's Secret show.

A highlight of the runway event is always the fantasy bra - a style designed exclusively for the event featuring a dazzling array of precious stones.

The honour of modelling the bra has this year gone to veteran angel, Lily Aldridge.

The American model has shown off the design in a new video which sees her dancing around in the design.

The Fireworks bra and matching belt as it has been named, is designed by jewellery designer Mouawad is valued at $2 million (about £1.3 million) and features over 6,500 previous gems including diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz - all of which are set in 18 karat gold.

The bra and belt took a whopping 685 hours of work to complete.

Red garnets provide the focal point of the bra which is inspired by the brand's new 'Very Sexy Flirt bra.'

Last year's fantasy bra was actually a double act - worn by Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima coming in at around $2 million each.

The most expensive bras ever made include the 2000 creation worn by Gisele which was valued at $15 million.

The Victoria's Secret show takes place next week in New York and will be aired on December 9th.
