Over the years, stars among the likes of Lady Gaga, Natalie Portman, Zoe Kravitz and Cate Blanchett have showcased breathtaking gowns by luxury fashion designers on the red carpet.
Last year, Lady Gaga's princess-esque baby pink Valentino gown – which she wore for the premiere of her eight-time Oscar-nominated film A Star Is Born – proved one of the highlights of the entire occasion.
Meanwhile, in 2012 actor Kate Hudson made a bold appearance on the red carpet in a dazzling gold embellished gown by Italian fashion house Versace.

The 76th Venice Film Festival is currently in full swing, and has already seen famous faces including Kristen Stewart, Scarlett Johansson and Liv Tyler pose for photographers on the red carpet.
Stewart and Johansson opted for red ensembles, both completing their looks with dramatic smokey eye makeup.
Meanwhile, fashion model Iman debuted one of the most striking designs of the event so far, donning a colourful bird and floral patterned creation by Valentino, complete with an exuberant display of feathers.
With the film festival due to come to a close on Saturday 7 September, cinephiles will have the opportunity to feast their eyes on a plethora of eye-catching red-carpet looks as the event runs its course.
