Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

David Koma, Holly Fulton, Louise Gray, and Michael van der Ham will all receive sponsorship for their spring/summer 2012 collections.

Thanks to the British Fashion Council's NewGen scheme in collaboration with retailer Topshop, these four emerging designers will be able to stage a catwalk show during London fashion week in September.

Established in 1993, NewGen is one of the world's most internationally recognized talent identification schemes and a major launchpad for young UK-based designers. Like New York's CFDA Fashion Awards, it is regarded as a leading indicator of the next big "It" designer.

In addition to financial support and expert consulting, the winners can also hope to embark on a career similar to those of Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Giles Deacon, or Christopher Kane, who are all alumni of the scheme.

This year's full list, revealed Tuesday night, includes:

Catwalk sponsorship: David Koma, Holly Fulton, Louise Gray and Michael van der Ham

Presentation sponsorship: Christopher Raeburn, Craig Lawrence, Dominic Jones, J.W. Anderson and Nasir Mazhar

Installation sponsorship: Jordan Askill and SISTER by SIBLING

Exhibition sponsorship: Felicity Brown, J. JS Lee, James Long, Palmer//Harding, Thomas Tait and Tim Soar Woman.
