Swift had teased on Twitter and Instagram for a couple of weeks that something big was coming on 26 April, fuelling rumours that new music was on the way.
At midnight last night, the Swifties' dreams were fulfilled, with the release of the 29-year-old's pastel-filled music video for "ME!", featuring Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie.
Swift's followers had surmised the singer's new musical era would feature lots of bright, saccharine colours, largely due to her most recent sartorial choices.
Earlier this week, the star attended the Time 100 Gala wearing a blush pink and lemon yellow off-shoulder gown created by haute couture designer J. Mendel, weeks after debuting pink-dipped hair at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

In the hours following Swift's music video release, fans have been praising the pastel aesthetic of the upbeat clip.
"I didn't know I needed Brendon Urie in pastel dancing with Taylor Swift in my life until now!" one person tweeted.
"That video literally RAINED PASTEL," another added.
Prior to the release of the music video, Swift told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts that the song is about "embracing your individuality and really celebrating it".
"I think that with a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves," the singer said.
The song features lyrics including: "But one of these things is not like the others/ Like a rainbow with all of the colours."
