It's a battle between two of the world's best known rappers, but rather than rhyming, this time it's over shoes.

Snoop Dogg has mocked Kanye West‘s new Yeezy slides for kids, by comparing the footwear to “jail slippers”.

An image and video of the new children's footwear was recently shared by Kim Kardashian West on her Instagram Story, showing the simple design in a variety of colours.

Fellow social media users were however, less than impressed.

Among them Snoop Dogg, who suggested that they looked like shoes a prison inmate would wear.

“She’s been getting dudes out of jail now he gone sell jail slippers [sic],” the musician wrote, referring to Kardashian West’s recent focus on criminal justice reform.

Dogg's comment garnered more than 20,000 likes and more than 450 responses.

Rapper and actor Milan Christopher also commented on the slides, writing: “This man bout to sell y’all $2 prison slippers for $500?”.

Another Instagram user wrote: “Bruh... these are the slides they give you at country jail... a friend told me.”

Earlier this year, the release of the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 trainers in “black static” prompted large queues outside shops in the UK, France and Australia.

At one point, the websites for FootLocker and JD Sports crashed as they were oversubscribed with users looking to buy the footwear.
