Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Anticipation has been relatively low regarding the Sex and the City sequel, but now that the official trailer has hit the web, excitement is starting to build online.
This is mainly due to celebrity appearances teased in the clip, which include actresses Miley Cyrus, Penelope Cruz, and Liza Minelli.
Apart from the star cameos, however, the plot seems painfully foreseeable with Miranda and Charlotte struggling with motherhood, while Samantha still refuses to grow older and Carrie gets to know the not-so-glam sides of marriage before jetting off to Abu Dhabi with her friends.
Tellingly, even Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, fails to be enthusiastic about the movie. In an interview with MTV, she said: "This one is not going to be that long. It's like condensed soup. It's different, and adventurous and rich, and there's music involved. And there were more costume changes in the first film than there are in the second one."
And Christian Louboutin, the shoe designer whose creations were mainly used in this sequel following the stylist's bust-up with Manolo Blahnik, told The Guardian: "I think it's a good thing because people tell me it is. I don't have a TV, you see."
Sounds like this one will be for die-hard fans only. Sex and the City 2 will hit cinemas from late May.
