The French capital's Musée des Arts Décoratifs has canceled its much-anticipated Kate Moss display due to economic reasons, it has emerged.

Back in September 2008, the museum had announced an exhibition focusing exclusively on the British supermodel and style icon - news greeted with much excitement - but delayed the opening, planned for November last year, due to a lack of funding.

Now the press office confirms that the project had to be called off, "given the current economic situation."

At this point, there are no plans to move the exhibition to another museum.
