From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Amy Winehouse's first collection for UK label Fred Perry is now available for sale in all standalone Fred Perry boutiques worldwide as well as online. The troubled crooner's 17-piece capsule collection for women - 15 items of clothing, a belt and a clutch bag - hit shelves on October 25.

Winehouse has always been considered a style icon with her vintage pin-up clothes, trademark beehive hairstyle and exaggerated kohl-lined eyes. The singer's debut collection strongly reflects her personal style. Expect a predominantly black and pink palette, checkered print and 1950s-inspired pieces.

The Grammy award-winning chanteuse told Harper's Bazaar that she has been a long-time fan of the British sportswear label: "Fred Perry is my be-all-and-end-all. I've always loved it, always worn it, it feels like a living dream."

John Flynn, managing director of Fred Perry, said of the collaboration: "We have had a great relationship with [Winehouse] over the years as she has been a loyal fan and supporter. Amy's sense of style and attitude to music and fashion pervades through this collaboration."

Key pieces in the collection include Fred Perry's iconic twin-tipped M12 polo shirt, Harrington jacket and jumper dress - all reworked with a sexy twist by Winehouse. The hemlines on her pencil skirts are shorter, her Capri pants channel punk-rock attitude, and her argyle sweater is more fitting for a 1950s siren than a demure lady.

Sizes run from a women's 6 (UK) to 16 (UK). Price points range from £55 (€62.50) for a polo tee to £275 (€312.57) for a trench coat.

A spokesperson for Fred Perry has confirmed to Relaxnews that Winehouse will design another capsule collection for the UK brand, which will roll out during spring 2011.

Celebrity lines are a dime a dozen nowadays, and Winehouse is hardly the first singer to make the foray into fashion. Pop star Gwen Stefani and ex-Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham both launched their own labels, L.A.M.B and Victoria Beckham Collection, respectively, while Madonna designed a capsule collection for fast fashion retailer H&M back in 2007 and debuted her Material Girl clothing line this past summer.
