Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Trainers are having a moment. No we don't mean your tatty Nike pair, it's all about high-end designer styles.

Ever since Karl Lagerfeld showed the traditionally sporty shoes on the runway for his Chanel haute couture show, wearing your kicks outside of the gym has become not just acceptable, but on-trend.

LA based shoe label Buscemi are however, taking this to the next level with a collection of 18kt gold-plated designs.

They come with eye-catching 18kt gold-plated hardware and hand painted edges.

The soles are heat treated in tonal matching paint so you won't have to worry about the bling sole fading with wear.

The style comes in three colourways; yellow gold, silver and rose gold to cover off all bases of precious metal.

As can only be expected the sneakers are handcrafted in Civitanova, Italy using the finest Italian leather.

All styles retail at £810 and will be available next week in store and online at harveynichols.com
