With Sin City's new CityCenter - the largest privately funded mixed-use complex ever to be constructed in the US - opening December 16, international luxury brands including Bottega Veneta, Paul Smith, Roberto Cavalli, and Louis Vuitton have launched their new glossy shopping destinations.

Italian design brand Versace has opened not one but three new stores in Dubai, one for jewelry, one for couture, and another one for its home accessories.

Tokyo
US sportswear label Abercrombie & Fitch launched its first Asian retail destination in Tokyo's Ginza district this month. According to local reports, thousands of people were waiting in line to get a glimpse of the new, 12-floor store when it opened December 15.

Paris
Comptoir des Cotonniers, the label that gained popularity through its mother-daughter ad campaigns, has opened a new flagship location at the Place Saint-Sulpice in Paris, coinciding with the launch of its latest 'La mère, la fille & la mode' ('The mother, the daughter & fashion') campaign.
Also in Paris, hipster brand A.P.C. opens a new store in the city at 1, rue de Varenne this week.
Melbourne
Australian fashion label Lulumae has opened a temporary boutique made of recycled cardboard in Melbourne December 1. Lulumae's istallation, created by the Australian Breathe Architects, can be fully assembled (and folded away) in one day and will be in place through January 31.

French luxe brand Lanvin launched its first US store at Bal Harbour Shops near Miami, coinciding with the Art Basel fair.

French brand Hermès opened its first boutique in the Philippines December 20, just in time for last-minute gift shopping. Locals report however that items will be selling at twice their US prices.
