In an interview with Yahoo Style, Ford speaks candidly to Yahoo's editor-in-chief Joe Zee about the criticism surrounding red carpet dressing this awards season.
"Because it has now become such a thing where people do spend months and make 5 dresses for them and send them. If you wear one of those dresses and a company has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars, or has paid you. Yeah you say who it is, of course." Ford argued.
Ford made his comments following his autumn/winter 2015 show which he staged for the first time in Los Angeles just ahead of the Oscars.
Reese Witherspoon wore a gown by Tom Ford to the Oscars last month, the actress has been one of the main proponents of the #AskHerMore campaign.
Regardless of earlier statements however, Witherspoon did reveal the origins of her dress on Oscar night with an Instagram post of her outfit crediting Ford for making the dress.
