From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Tiffany & Co have unveiled its new advertising campaign, which for the first time features a same sex couple.

The jewellery brand has released the image as part of its new "Will You" campaign which centres on a modern look at love.

Shot in New York by renowned fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, the images feature couples at various stages in their relationship including a couple with a child about to get married and a same-sex couple about to commit to marriage.

"No other brand embodies the emotion and trust that Tiffany does for those who are committed to one another,” comments Caroline Naggiar, chief marketing officer of Tiffany & Co.

“People have always looked to Tiffany to commemorate the most precious and joyous moments in their lives.”

Tiffany & Co is the latest brand to embrace a more diverse approach to portraying relationships in its advertising campaigns, J.Crew has previously featured a same sex couple in its catalogue under the caption "Happy Together."

Banana Republic also chose real life couple Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent as the stars of their campaign in February last year.
