From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

As anticipation builds up over the Sex and the City movie sequel -- fashion sites have been running snapshots of Sarah Jessica Parker's outfits for her 'Carrie Bradshaw' character for months -- its official trailer has been released online.

As anticipation builds up over the Sex and the City movie sequel - fashion sites have been running snapshots of Sarah Jessica Parker's outfits for her 'Carrie Bradshaw' character for months - its official trailer has been released online.

But apart from Bradshaw's statement that "in two years, amazing things can happen," viewers are still being kept in the dark about the plot. The movie seems to foresee a trip to Morocco for the four girlfriends, but the reasons for this jaunt aren't made clear. Instead: lots of trendy turbans, shots of Carrie's wardrobe, someone who seems to become Samantha's new toy boy, camels in a desert, and Mr. Big in a tuxedo.

Fans will have to wait until May or June to see exactly how director Michael Patrick King is planning to join these elements together. As various media outlets have pointed out, the sequel is not likely to hold any major surprises - its second title is 'Carrie On' after all - but as Bradshaw puts it in the teaser: "sometimes, you just have to get away with the girls."

Sex and the City 2 hits US, UK and Brazilian theaters May 28, following its launch in countries including Argentina, Singapore and Germany on May 27. The rest of Europe follows between June 2 and June 4, and Japan finally releases the movie on June 12.
