Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

For all those who have ever wished for a hotline to a fashion editor ahead of a big night out, your dreams are about to come true. Working in collaboration with SHOWstudio.com, Topshop are unveiling a new project at their Oxford Street store tomorrow, to celebrate the launch of their new make-up range, and putting shoppers in touch with some of the biggest names in fashion.

MIRROR MIRROR is the latest in a string of interactive initiatives dreamt up by the creative team behind photographer Nick Knight's fashion website. SHOWstudio recently celebrated its tenth birthday with an exhibition at Somerset House. One of the attractions was a live studio, where fashion shoots took place in front of a live audience and could be watched online - The Independent's fashion stylist Gemma Hayward worked on the project last year, which you can read about here.

Since then, SHOWstudio have been looking for ever more inventive ways of bringing fashion to the people - from live-streaming some of the most hotly anticipated catwalk shows (in February, they broadcast Rodarte's collection live from New York) to this new venture, which sees a giant mirror being erected in Topshop's flagship store at Oxford Circus. Shoppers will receive a complimentary make-over from one of the in-house beauty team and tips from one of the in-store personal stylists before checking out their reflection in the mirror - where some of the biggest names in the fashion industry will be tweeting their opinions on each ensemble, via a live internet link-up.

From tomorrow, commentators will include designer Louise Goldin, illustrator Julie Verhoeven, US Vogue contributing stylist Edward Enninful, Dazed & Confused's fashion director Karen Langley, Gillian Wilkins of Vogue and Victoria Young from Love magazine.

And to top it off, The Independent's Harriet Walker will also be sharing her views of some of the city's most stylish shoppers from 3pm this Saturday. Log on to Showstudio.com to watch the action unfold - or get down to Topshop, if you think you have what it takes to impress the fashion pack.
