Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

River Island is one of the heroes of the great British high street. First established in London in 1948, over 60 years and 300 stores worldwide later it is established as one of the foremost high street destinations for fast fashion.

The brand benefit from a London based in-house design team and is known for supporting young design talent with its initiative with the British Fashion Council that features up and coming talent every season.

Previous designer collaborations include Julian J Smith, William Tempest and Eudon Choi. The brand also hosted a yearlong collaboration with singer Rihanna that ended last winter.

When it comes to stocking up for the new season River Island might be better known for its more playful take on the trends (if you’re ever in the market for a multi-colour crop top, staggeringly high platform heels or neoprene mini dress, River Island is your destination), it is also a great bet for those hardworking wardrobe essentials.

Here’s our edit of the best new season styles available to buy now:

Navigate towards timeless pieces like a classic black boot or tailored coat. The cost per wear of investing in these types of wardrobe basics will pay off in no time.
