British supermodel Kate Moss's messy hair already was all the rage in the beginning of the 1990s and is back with a bang this season, with many designers citing the look as an influence for their 'don't care hair.'
Alexander Wang went even further than that, styling his models in unwashed-looking dos, in tune with the current grunge influences.
The trend went beyond hair, however, with labels such as Rag & Bone creating looks that seemed as if models had slept in their make-up, i.e. eyeliner. A make-up artist working of Kristen Stewart's Twilight look just told the media this month that Stewart would actually sleep in her eyeliner in order to achieve a natural, grungy, 'neglected' make-up.
Along with the 'goth' influence, dark lips are still going strong (as seen at Peter Som, for example).
However, there was still a number of designers going for a glossier appeal: Old Hollywood glamour was clearly the inspiration behind Cristian Siriano's hair, and a broad range of labels, including Georges Chakra, stuck to variations of the high bun.
Braided hair styles are also still popular on the runways, with a new addition being the fish braid (tutorials on YouTube).
In nails, most brands went for matte colors, but there's a definite trend towards long nails and nail art that was previously observed on the red carpet.
