From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was the biggest winner at the ELLE Style Awards in London February 23, being honored with the magazine's Outstanding Contribution prize.

Campbell received the prize for her 25 years in fashion but also for her work for The White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) that promotes safe pregnancy. Recently, the supermodel has made headlines mainly with charity work - her two Fashion for Relief showcases in New York and London during the fashion weeks, for instance.

Singer Kylie Minogue gave the award of TV Star of the Year to her sister Dannii, who has been a judge on the British talent show X-Factor.

Carey Mulligan, fashion's current red carpet darling and star of An Education, won Actress of the Year after just having won at the BAFTAs. Colin Firth, who stars in designer Tom Ford's directing debut A Single Man, was named Actor of the Year.

Finally, actresses-turned-designers, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were named this year's Style Icons, fellow it-girl Alexa Chung won the Editor's Choice award, and the Music Star of the Year prize went to Florence and the Machine.
