From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Singer Beyoncé's highly anticipated first fragrance will be called 'Heat' and released in the US in February.

The star, who has previously fronted fragrance campaigns for Giorgio Armani and Tommy Hilfiger, signed with beauty giant Coty earlier this year.

The move came as a bit of a surprise after Knowles's husband, rapper Jay-Z, had signed a deal with Coty competitor Parlux to distribute celebrity fragrances in partnership with Iconic Fragrances, a perfume business he co-owns. R'n'B artists Rihanna and Kanye West will reportedly release their scents together with Parlux and Iconic next year.

"For me, fragrance reflects a woman's attitude and unique sense of style," Beyoncé had said in a press release. "While I love various perfumes, I haven't found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman. Working with Coty, I was able to turn my ideal fragrance into a reality by creating an alluring and sophisticated fragrance [...]."

'Heat' smells of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach, and will come in three sizes, retailing between $39-$59. A matching body lotion will also be released.

An international roll-out is planned for later next year.
