Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

At the pop-up shop no money will be necessary as transactions will instead be based solely on social media with the customer's use of the hashtag #MJDaisyChain.
To shop customers will be encouraged to tweet using the hashtag and the more creative the tweet the bigger the potential price with Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags also up for grabs.
As well as tweeting for products, customers visiting the store will be able to enjoy a social media orientated lounge with free wi-fi, drinks, a nail bar, photo booth and DJ set by Hana Hanra.
The pop-up follows a similar tweet store which was launched by Marc Jacobs in New York during fashion week last Feburary.
The pop-up shop is open from 15th to the 17th August, from 10am-8pm on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday 10pm-6pm. 4 East Piazza, Covent Garden, London WC2E 8HD.
