From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It's the final day of London Fashion Week today. After four exhausting days of back to back shows, Somerset House will close its doors to fashion folk for another season.
It's not too late to get your fix of fashion with some of the most eagerly anticipated events still to go and fortunately we're streaming them live here.
Tune in at 2pm for the flirty shapes of Emilio de la Morena. And 3pm it's the typically bold and brash Ashish show, expect sequins.
At 4pm expect a theatrical display from design duo Meadham Kirchhoff. And the grand finale is at 5pm with Hakaan Yildirim makes his return to London Fashion week with his H By Hakaan Yildirim presentation.
Forget getting hot and sweaty in a tent and craning your neck round a sea of camera phones to glimpse the catwalk.
Instead enjoy watching the shows from the comfort of your own home with the best view in the house.
