Retouching has always been a contentious issue but its a tool used widely across the fashion industry. Lady Gaga is eschewing the trend however and has opted to appear completely natural in her newest editorial shoot.
In the images shot by Bruce Weber, the 29 year old singer who is due to marry later this year, is pictured getting into the spirit of the occasion wearing bridal looks.
But as can be expected from the eccentric star the looks, styled by the magazine's founder Carine Roitfeld, are anything but conventional; two versions of the cover see her donning the traditional white bridal shade and a second in a more unusual black look.
On the reasoning behind the decision to shoot the star completely unretouched Roitfeld told style.com:
"I wanted to show her completely natural, all herself."
"The theme for the issue is classic/eccentric because I am interested in what happens when you mix the two. I am fascinated by people who represent both extremes at the same time . . . It is always better to be a little bit of both" she explains.
Roitfeld is also introducing for the first time a men's version of her fashion magazine - CR Men's Book. The first version of which sees male model and teenage sensation Lucky Blue star on the cover.
Explaining her decision to cast Blue on the cover she says:
"To me he represents the man of today: pretty yet handsome, accessible yet unique, classic yet modern. He is the boy every boy wants to be and every girl wants to be with."
