Karlie Kloss fashion's international darling in 2009
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.According to a meticulous post on fashion web community, fashin LiveJournal, fashion model Karlie Kloss booked the most international Vogue editorials this year.
With Kloss topping the list in the US, Italy, Mexico and the UK, it is safe to say that the model is defining the current international beauty ideal - at least in the Western hemisphere. Lara Stone and Sasha Pivovarova are following on her heels.
Kloss also was the most-booked runway model during New York Fashion Week last February and booked major advertising campaigns including for Chloé and Dior this year.
As for photographers, Patrick Demarchelier was responsible for most Vogue editorials around the world in 2009.
The list, compiled by fashin contributor 'shrubrub,' includes the Vogue editions in Australia, Brazil, China, Spain, Germany, Italia, Mexico, Japan, France, Russia, the UK, and the US. Generally, it was noted that Brazil, Australia and the Asian Vogues like to keep their editorials 'among themselves,' i.e. predominantly use local models and photographers, while Vogue Italiy's edition was by far the most diverse.
