Karl Lagerfeld may have been presenting his spring/summer collection today as part of Paris Fashion week but that didn't stop him slipping away shortly before the show to get a sneak peek of Apple's latest gadget.

Paris designer concept store Colette today hosted a special preview with the watch on display in the store attracted crowds of Apple fans eager to get a glimpse of the new watch.

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld was allowed an exclusive demonstration alongside editor of American Vogue Anna Wintour. In a picture tweeted by Vanessa Friedman the Fashion Director of the New York Times Lagerfeld is pictured trying the watch on.

Suzy Menkes International Online Editor of Vogue also shared an image of Lagerfeld who is pictured alongside Jony Ive and Marc Newson. No ordinary shop assistants would do of course, Ive and Newson are the team heading up Apple’s product design.

A release date for the watch is yet to be announced but its presence in Colette has led to speculation that it will be retailed in high-end department stores as well as Apple stores.
