From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

It's almost time for the 2015 Golden Globes which takes place this weekend. With an impressive guest list, we round-up the stars to look out for on the red carpet.

The Golden Globes will officially kick off 2015 awards season on Sunday from the Beverly Hilton Hotel which culminates in the Academy Awards in February.

In fashion terms, it's the first big event of the year for attendees to make their mark. Everyone from the fashion brand, to the stylist and of course the celebrity has a lot invested in getting their dress noticed.

The Golden Globes is a unique event, not just because it's the first of the season but also because it's rather larger in awards categories than other ceremonies, including TV as well as film, meaning a bigger guestlist.

Nominees expected to attend the event in full Hollywood glamour mode are numerous, ranging from longtime favourites like Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren to newer faces including Emma Stone and Felicity Jones.

Check back here on Sunday 11th January from 11pm when we will be reporting on all the looks as the stars arrive on the red carpet.
