From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The British model of the moment has proved many talents so far. She’s conquered the catwalks from London to Milan, the most prestigious campaigns and Vogue covers, became Karl Lagerfeld’s golden girl, designed capsule collections for Mulberry and DKNY, landed acting jobs on the big screen and now, her big singing project has been confirmed.
Delevingne and Williams have reportedly been working together on this for the past eight months. A source told The Sun: “They’re going to release the song without warning, complete with video and global launch.
"They seem to have formed a great little writing collective and apparently it’s a huge song."
Kicking off an alternative career to modelling alongside Williams would be her first step to stardom in the music business.
Last week, the supermodel joined the award-winning musician on stage, cheerfully dancing to the beats of ‘Happy’ at his sold-out concert in Paris, where they have reportedly filmed a music video for their joint track during fashion week.
The pair are no strangers to working together and have praised each other numerous times. In 2013 they posed for a Vogue cover shoot. Speaking about it, Delevingne gushed about her mentor saying: “I was so excited about working with him, he inspires me so much. I went on tour with Rihanna recently and “Blurred Lines” was blasted from the bus to get everyone singing.”
Back in February, Williams gushed about her too when he told Capital FM during a live radio interview: “I think what people should probably focus in on, versus these specific projects, is on her, her spirit. And what she’s up to next. Trust me.”
As we look forward to the launch of the reportedly upcoming single, we look back at her singing debut last year alongside Will Heard with the track ‘Sun Don’t Shine’.
