Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Good news for Chanel fans, you can now shop online for a fix of the iconic fashion brand.
For the first time Chanel has entered the world of ecommerce in partnership with luxury online retailer net-a-porter.com.
Chanel clothing and accessories have historically never been available to buy online. In 2012 Chanel CEO Bruno Pavlovsky explained the policy to Business of Fashion:
"To be able to wear Chanel clothes, you need to try them on. You need to be in the fitting room. You need to have a tailor who alters the clothes to fit exactly to your body. I think it’s part of Chanel. It’s more than just our service. It’s part of our differentiation to have ready-to-wear that is perfect for our customers."
But that's old news, as the brand has taken the first step into online retail with Coco Crush, a new fine jewellery collection which will be available to buy online from next week.
The range is made up of five rings and a cuff all feature the signature Chanel quilting design in 18 karat white and yellow gold.
"We are thrilled that Chanel has decided to work with Net-a-porter on this exclusive initiative. Chanel is a brand that we admire greatly and we are incredibly honored and proud to partner with them on their first ever fine jewelry ecommerce project." Commented Alison Loehnis, President of Net-a-porter.com.
But the pieces don't come cheap with prices starting at £1,400 and going up to £13,500.
Available from April 15th, net-a-porter.com
